About Samoyed Rescue of Texas
A 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Samoyeds across the south-central United States since 2001.
Our Mission
Samoyed Rescue of Texas, Inc. (SRT) is committed to rescuing Samoyeds and Samoyed mixes who have been abandoned, surrendered, or are in danger. We provide medical care, foster homes, and loving support until each dog finds their perfect forever family. We also educate the public about responsible Samoyed ownership and the importance of rescue adoption.
Our History
SRT was founded by a small group of passionate Samoyed lovers who saw a growing need for breed-specific rescue in Texas and the surrounding region. Over the years we have grown into a trusted network of volunteers, foster families, and donors spanning Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. We have placed hundreds of Samoyeds into loving forever homes and continue to expand our reach every year.
Our All-Volunteer Team
Every person at SRT — from our board members to our foster families — is a volunteer. No one draws a salary. Every dollar donated goes directly to the care of the dogs: vet bills, food, grooming, transport, and more. Our volunteers bring decades of combined experience in dog rescue, veterinary care, training, and animal welfare advocacy.
Our Goals
- Rescue Samoyeds and Samoyed mixes in need across the south-central US
- Provide thorough medical care and rehabilitation for every dog in our program
- Place each dog in a carefully screened, loving forever home
- Educate the public about the Samoyed breed and responsible ownership
- Support adopters and foster families with resources and community
- Collaborate with shelters, vets, and partner organizations to save more lives
Where We Serve
SRT actively rescues dogs in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. We work with a network of volunteer transporters and Pilots N Paws to move dogs safely across the region.
